Best Bars/Pubs

I’ve not imbedded an ‘overview’ map so I’d recommend using Saved Places on your Google Maps to track them down and see what’s close to you.

This is a non-exhaustive list; covering some places in the CBD, Fitzroy, North Fitzroy, Northcote, Brunswick.

Ferdydurke – exposed bricks, great DJ’s, cool crowd

Misty – lovely cocktails, intimate and fresh atmosphere

Siglo – pricey, but good view for one drink

Goldilocks – smaller rooftop bar just down the road from the one that the crowds flock too

Black Cat – comfy couches, fun tunes, great street side seating

Naked in the sky – stunning view of Melbourne, 280 degree views of the city from sheer glass walls

Mr Wow’s Emporium – hipster as. Bowling and table tennis.

Howler Bar – good DJ’s, check gig guides to see whats playing.

Kelvin Bar – in tiny Westgarth. Cozy with a roaring fire in winter, perfect for drinks before or after a film at the heritage listed, art-deco Westgarth Cinema which is just opposite the bar.

Joe’s Shoe Store – Next to the incredible Pizza Meine Liebe (you can order pizza’s to have at the bar) this is a cozy hang out with a wonderful courtyard out back.

Monty’s – northside local with cozy vibes

LongPlay – similar to Monty’s

Union Club Hotel – as authentic a pub experience as you will get in this era of over-the-top-renovated hipster hangouts, the Union Club has held out and is all the better for it.
